Just the approach to this 14th Century farmhouse
was enough to put me in the mood for the evening.
In the pouring rain and in the pitch black, we
drove round bending roads to discover this amazing
hotel. On our arrival Scoobie the dog was there to
give us a warm welcome. What started out a bit of a
break, soon became a bit of an investigation in its
own right.
We went to our room, one of three en-suite rooms
that had been converted from the old barn.
The story goes that a Son of the farmer who owned
the property had apparantly killed himself in the
barn. There have been reports of lights in the
corners of the rooms by guests.
We had been in the room for around 30 minutes
when I saw the outline of a tall figure glide pass the
bedroom window. The best way I could describe it
was an outline of a person with a blueish glow about
it. It did seem a bit odd.
After immediately checking outside the back of
the farm I realised that there was no-one there and
after looking at the pond that was now the back of
the farmhouse, I thought it unlikely anyone would
have been out there.
There have been sightings at the farm of the ghost
of a tall highwayman who was supposed to have
been hung in the area.
I felt that there was a concentration of energy by the door in the bedroom, and attempted to take an emf test but the meter was off the scale in the area by the door.
Behind the door was the bar area, and having not seen that area yet, thought there might be a fridge or something immediately behind the door, but later found there was nothing that would emmit the strong reading on the emf counter.
After a lovely evening and great food, we retired to
our room.
I had feeling of a presence and that the energyby the door was still there. I started taking pictures and as you can see captured light anomolies and orbs in the above pictures.
In the morning after breakfast, I took some pictures of the
dining room and the bar area which again captured an orb as
you can see in the pictures below.
The owners of the farm, Jeff and Simon had offered to take us around the most haunted area of the farm which was where they lived in the farmhouse. I was drawn to a room which I was told was the old dairy, where I took some pictures.
Then my hair started to stand on end and I felt there was a spirit presence there. Simon then told us that this was where one of the former owners had hung himself. Again I captured
orbs on my camera as you can see below.
We then went to the upstairs area to what Simon
called "the murder room"!!
As soon as I walked in, I felt dizzy and also quite
anxious. Simon had said that when they moved into the farm, they had used that room as a bedroom but had found it so uncomfortable that they had to move to another room.
I took some pictures of the room, but didnt think
I had captured anything but on further inspection saw that I did.
Please see below.
In the hall just outside this room I saw a cat that seemed to be looking up at something. We went to have a look and I felt a
presence in that area and again started taking pictures. See below.
After checking out, I really wanted to take some pictures of the old derelict barn/house at the bottom near the entrance to the farm.
As you can see there are orbs that seem to be in the house.
We left Elvey Farm and headed by car up to Pluckley village where
we went through the churchyard and then walked back through the graveyard to the Black Horse, another reputedly haunted venue. I took various pictures of fireplaces and other places in the pub, but felt I needed to concentrate on the main entrance to the bar which, I feel captured the most amazing orbs. I couldnt really believe what I was capturing. See below.
The next shot was taken no more than 30 seconds later.
There are orbs, and there seems to be a mist forming in the middle of
the shot.
Although this wasn't an official investigation, Jeff and Simon couldn't have been more helpful.
The Elvey Hotel Pluckley is beautiful and the food and the hospitality is outstanding. I would highly recommend a visit.
I can't believe how lucky I was to capture so many orbs, and all I
had was my digital camera and an emf meter.
Pluckley is really worth a thorough investigation and I hope to
take the White light Team there at some point to do just that.
As far as I am concerned Pluckley is alive with all sorts of energy and paranormal activity.
What was intended to be a break for a day or two relaxing, turned into an opportunity to capture some amazing shots and experience
some quite strange activity.
